SIS50321 Diploma of Sport (Coaching & Sport Development)

This course provides the skills and knowledge to pursue a career in sport coaching and sport development. Work in sport: coaching athletes; managing competitions, sports venues and facilities; and identifying / developing athletes. Study modules in: ethics in sport, coaching, sport development and sport leadership.

Employment for Sports Coaches is rated as “very strong growth”.

  • Coaching, training and instructing sportspersons by analysing performances and developing abilities.
  • Planning and directing game strategies, developing play patterns and analysing game progress.
  • Motivating sportspersons and supervising practice sessions.
  • Recruiting players and other coaching staff.
  • Arranging entries into sporting competitions.
  • Promoting sports and skills development, and overseeing the participation of young people in sport.
  • Officiating at sporting events to enforce rules.
  • Coordinating and directing sporting activities, and liaising with other officials to interpret and enforce rules and regulations relating to sport.

Entry Requirements:
  • Year 10 high school certificate or equivalent OR
  • Certificate IV in a relevant qualification OR
  • Mature aged student with relevant workplace experience
  • Basic computer skills and access to a desktop or laptop with sufficient internet speed to undertake online studies
Course Duration:

On-Campus-Domestic: 18 months

Blended (On-campus/High School): 12 to 18 months

SIS20321 Certificate II in Sport Coaching

This entry level qualification provides a strong foundation for those passionate about coaching, offering the skills to lead pre-planned sessions for foundation-level participants in specific sports. It opens doors to assistant coaching roles within community-based sports clubs and organizations, providing hands-on experience and career growth in the Australian sport industry.

Package the Certificate II in Sport Coaching with a Certificate III in Fitness. Enquire for more information.

Entry Requirements:

  • You don’t need a specific fitness level or prior coaching knowledge to commence.
